FSX STUDENT TRAVEL GRANT PROGRAM - ANNOUNCEMENT OF OPPORTUNITY

The Foundation for Space Exploration (FSX) announces the availability of its Student Travel Grant Fund for the support of full-time, enrolled university undergraduate students who wish to attend major professional conferences held within the United States, Canada or Mexico. Grants of up to $1,000 each are available and may be used to offset transportation, hotel, meal and conference registration costs.

Applications must be received by FSX in writing at the address below on or before 90 days before the beginning of the conference. Subject to fund availability, grants will be made to applicants who meet the qualifications listed below by a process that will insure fair consideration of all applicants. The information required in the application is the following:

  1. Name of student, mailing address, telephone number and email address.
  2. Name of university that student attends and mailing address.
  3. Letter in support of the grant application, signed by a Department Chair, Dean or similar authorized representative of the student's university.
  4. A one-page essay, written and signed by the student, describing his/her interest in space exploration and the benefits expected to be derived from attending the conference.
  5. Brief budget and request for support (applications should request only the amount needed, up to $1,000). If the application is for partial support, estimate the full cost of attendance, including transportation, hotel, meals and conference registration.

Applications should be emailed to: ContactUs

Exclusion: This fund is not available for students who are authors or co-authors of papers presented at the conference or any collateral "special event." It is assumed that there are alternative means of funding for students who participate in such efforts.
